Rolando is originally from Grand Rapids MI, he is a graduate of
Franciscan University of Steubenville in OH, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Theology with a concentration in Religious Education and a minor in Human Life Studies. From there he attended the
Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC where he earned a Masters of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) degree and gradated in May 2005. Since that time, Rolando had been working as the Pastoral Associate of Catechesis and Family Life at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salem OR. Rolando’s primary tasks at St. Joseph’s parish are RCIA, Adult Faith formation, Catechesis and Marriage Preparation. In Addition to working at St. Joseph’s, Rolando has taught courses in Theology for the Archdiocese of Portland’s Ministry Formation Program. More recently, Rolando has taken graduate courses in theology at
The Liturgical Institute at the University of St. Mary’s of the Lake in Mundelein, IL and
Mt. Angel Seminary for continued education and personal enrichment. He is currently the Director of Catechesis and Faith Formation for the Archdiocese of Portland. Rolando and his wife Angela have three children and they live in Salem.
